World-leading diamond corp. uses RADWIN PtMP for high-definition video surveillance in mining sites

RADWIN solutions boost operational safety and perimeter security in Namibian mining sites

Tel Aviv, Israel, Feb. 6 2019, RADWIN (, the global wireless broadband provider, today announced that one of the world’s leading diamond mining companies with operations in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Canada chose RADWIN’s wireless broadband systems to enhance operational safety and perimeter security in its Namibian mine site. RADWIN’s partner, IMPLEO Communication Technologies, was responsible for project design and installation.

IMPLEO outfitted mobile trailers with high-definition video cameras (CCTV) and RADWIN’s JET Point-to-Multipoint, PtP as well as RADWIN 5000 PtMP nomadic solutions. CCTV trailers move on a weekly basis to different mining sites and live video is transmitted from the sites to the diamond corporation’s control room via RADWIN’s wireless broadband equipment. The real-time video transmission allows security staff to monitor and respond to security breaches and potential violations on the spot, thus enhancing employee safety and securing mine perimeters.

Operating in a harsh desert mining environment, RADWIN’s IP67 solutions relay highest quality video at ranges of up to 20Km to with low latency and jitter, a must for mission-critical CCTV applications such as this.”

Peter Turvey, GM Middle East, South & East Africa, RADWIN: “We’re proud that our PtMP and PtP solutions play a critical role in this project and will continue to support the mining surveillance network as it expands to more sites. Mining companies worldwide rely on RADWIN-powered video surveillance networks for their fixed, nomadic and mobile requirements because our solutions deliver highest throughput in the most challenging environments.”
